Meet Chris

Chris Winwood works for the BC Epilepsy Society as the Epilepsy Education & Outreach Worker (Prince George).

Chris is a graduate of the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), an adventurer and a person living with epilepsy.

In a video by the BC Epilepsy Society, Chris tells the story of his journey with epilepsy and the path that he took that led him to complete a charity bike ride for epilepsy. Chris was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 21 and his life changed drastically. One thing remained the same: his love for outdoor adventure. Chris pushed past his diagnosis and fearlessly completed a charity bike ride that raised funds for the BC Epilepsy Society and promoted epilepsy awareness in his community. In his role at the BC Epilepsy Society, as the Epilepsy Education & Outreach Worker (Prince George), Chris provides information and resources to people living with epilepsy and their families in Prince George and raises awareness of epilepsy in the community. Chris also delivers free workshops, presentations and resources on epilepsy awareness and seizure first aid and safety to schools in Prince George and surrounding areas.

The I AM A VOICE for Epilepsy Awareness™ campaign is grateful for grants from the City of Prince George and from the Prince George Community Fund that have allowed the BC Epilepsy Society to expand their services to Prince George and help people living with epilepsy and their families in Prince George.

If you live in Prince George and you or a loved one has epilepsy, please reach out to Chris at pgsupport@bcepilepsy.com for information and resources.
